Lioru
The current story takes place on this continent. It is estimated to be 817 square miles in length and 760 square miles in width at it's furthest points. Three islands belong to Lioru, four cities, nine towns, and the long standing Pokémon reserve. The continent, ages ago, used to be unpopulated by human and Pokémon alike aside from the sky and sea going creatures that would occasionally find settlement there within the trees and beaches.

Once discovered by mankind it was made, entirely into a reserve for Pokémon. There were several stations set up in various places to keep watch over the creatures and care centers to take care of the wounded. Publicized, teams would relocate troublesome Pokémon here instead of exterminating them. When trainers became too old or felt they couldn't take care of their Pokémon they would be allowed to release them here with a fine. Many chose to do this, however, because capture was illegal here and because of the watch stations it was rare poachers would come to these lands, allowing the Pokémon to live out the remainder of their lives in peace.

Because of the releases, relocations and migratory Pokémon...a wide range of species from all regions inhabit this region. Through the years they have bred and made up for the lack of animated life on the continent.

Due to the nature of the area and mostly undisturbed wildlife, save the shelters made, it became a tourist attraction. Both trainers and photographers alike would travel across the sea in order to visit. Scientists also found interest here; curious to the wide mixture of species that now inhabited the continent and wishing to study how the Pokémon have adapted to everything.

Eventually the police academy that watched over the creatures decided to build resorts for the humans to stay during their travels. It drew more people toward the continent and provided enough income for the academy, as well as the visitors, to stay there comfortably.

But a disaster occurred...

A large scale earthquake raked through the continent, coast to coast. Portions of the south-west and north-east edges "broke off" when the ground split into the oceans, water filling the gaps. There were just a few months when a tropical storm devastated the north-west regions of the continent.

Desperate for money to restore the wilderness, what little was built, and to medically treat the wounded the academy sold the continent to a large company of researchers.

Through the years, to support their own needs, other industries were brought in. The resorts became villages and from there towns and cities appeared on the map. The continent, after a revision to the deed, was named Lioru. By this time the shifts of the oceanic plates had pulled the islands further and further away from Lioru. Eventually, they were given each their own names despite still being considered part of Lioru herself.

After developing a legal system of its own catching was legalized but they kept a large portion where it was still illegal in order for the continent to retain its title.

Üman ( Island )
Estimated between 480 and 328 square miles at the longest and widest points, Üman is the largest of the islands and is located north-east of Lioru. The highest edges are mountainous but dip into low elevation fields. The city of Citali divides the north-west fields from the south-west. It is home to the town of Tliél, a research station located shortly from town. Both nestled a few short miles beneath Mt. Borvo, a once active underwater volcano that has long-since became part of the island after being uncovered by the shifting oceanic plates. It has not erupted since and has been dubbed sleeping. Occasionally it'll spew smoke or ash and cause tremors before settling down for another few months. Researchers assure the towns people that it is far from ready to erupt and likely wont.
Most of the island consists of forestry that begins at the fields and ends at the mountain scape. Tliél is located at the edge of the north-east section of the forest where the trees thin out and lead to the edge of Mt. Borvo. The city of Citali is located south-west of the island and owns a small docking station for ships.
It is said that the forestry once was part of the Arubin Forest before the earthquake so many years ago and has since been unofficially named "New Arubi". There are water formations that begin high in the mountains and cut through the east-central forestry. Because of this Citali is known for the rather extravagant Chandya Falls.

Mazal ( Island )
Estimated between 220 and 130 square miles at the longest and widest points, Mazal is the second largest of the islands and is located far south-west of Lioru. Mostly a dry, sandy island it is known for its extensive beaches and the city of Taloc which takes up most of the general geography of the island. There is a small stream that runs at the edge of the north-east edge, said to one have been the ending point of the Soren River.
Within the city limits, the north point, there is a large aquarium by the name of RiKabooki. Recently a new addition has been added to it; a hall leading to an underwater room with thick glass walls so visitors can view the underwater wildlife in its undisturbed environment. Mazal brings in most of its money from this major tourist attraction.

Itzili ( Island )
Itzili is the smallest of the islands located south-west of Lioru and North-west of Mazal...its size estimates have yet to be determined and is mostly uninhabited by humans except for certain times a year. It consists of plains and a single town called Mijel which is located three miles east of a battle stadium.
While not being used for the league the stadium is used for other things. Special events happen here several times a year. Often held for holiday parties or other attractions held by the town elders.
There is a small dock at the eastern region but the ship only travels to Lioru when the events are being held. Once over, it will take trainers back to Lioru but if they miss the ship it will not make a special trip to take them back. Once it returns to Itzili it stays at the dock until the next event is held. If any trainers missed the run then they are on their own or stuck in Itzili until the next even if they cannot find a way off the island.

Ekene ( City )
The roads that lead to this city are located north of Lioru. It starts off as a relatively thin strip of city-like side shops and apartments before expanding into the actual city located east of Lioru and some distance south.
Most of the Arubin Forest was paved out to create this city. Ekene is a mostly fenced-in city surrounded by the remaining forestry, save for a few homes that are scattered close to the city but outside of the fencing. The owners tend to consider themselves not part of Ekene and has earned them a bad reputation with the city people who believe the home-owners think they are better than they are. They are generally outcast.

Taloc ( City )
Taloc takes up most of the island, Mazal. Its aquarium and wide selection of hotels and bars bring in most the island's money.
The people of Taloc are generally very friendly and welcoming to travelers and are all a rather tight-knit community despite the expanse of the island. Taloc's bar owners across the island are all infamous for one common thing; attempting to convince visitors to move there permanently.
All in all, even if the overly-friendly people may be discouraging to some unfamiliar with their ways, Taloc is generally a rather fun place to live or vacation to.

Citali ( City )
Citali divides the north-west fields of Üman from the south-west. It is said that it was intended to be an extension to Ekene but the Arubin Forest borders the edge of Lioru where Ekene is located, disproving this theory.
Despite the city being located directly at the edge of the island it lacks beaches save for the small sand formations at the end of the fields at either side of the city.

Zölin ( City )
Zölin is located almost to the center of Lioru and has been dubbed the heart of Lioru for its placement and the shape the city almost takes when seen from space.
Likely one of the more dangerous cities people have begun to take precaution and have reconsidered moving there. Zölin is where all the chaos began. It was where the kidnapping happened...where rumors about the pokémorphs originated and spread. Such rumors have caused the morphs in this specific city to worry over their abilities and in other places...made a few more comfortable.

Mijel ( Town )
Mijel is located in Itzili and is the only town in current existence there. It seems be ran more like a village, the people in charge being the Rebeiro family who also own a herb shop. The town is trying to earn money in order to expand.

Tliél ( Town )
Far north of Üman some few miles from the edges of the mountainous regions is Tliél. The people that live here keep mostly to themselves. Rarely will they visit Citali, unwilling to travel through the forestry unless it involves fleeing from the supposed sleeping volcano during the times it would attempt to become active. While many worry over Mt. Borvo, a handful don't let it bother them.
Researchers for Xander Industries have followed pokémorph to the base of the mountains near Chandya Falls. They are trying to uncover what draws the creatures to that specific location even when they have never heard of Chandya in their life. Wanting more information they've set up a research building here. In this case close to town in order to obtain basic needs for themselves without having too far to travel. The building is in a cleared out area of the New Arubi forest. It's too far from there to Chandya to go on foot but they have sent a few of their scientists to set up camp near the falls. However, these campsites have been destroyed on more than one occasion by what survivors claim to have been the legendary bird of fire, and rumored beast of thunder in Lioru. They've learned to fear these creatures, and are beginning to suspect they've got something to do with the pokémorphs.

Chenia ( Town )
Chenia is a rather large town to the east of Zölin in Lioru. There is a pokémon daycare center located here.

Dialzé ( Town )
One of three towns separated from the rest of the continent by the Soren River. Closest to the sea, mild tremors still exist here where supposedly the quake began. Most of the towns people worry that another quake may happen and further separate the divided portion from Lioru.

Arjon ( Town )
Located a distance north-east from Dialzé, Arjon is another of three towns isolated from Lioru. Arjon, at one time, was one of the watch stations that expanded before Lioru was sold after the quake. They are not very friendly toward travelers and some of the older citizens strictly believe that the continent should be returned to the pokémon.

Vale ( Town )
The last of the three towns behind the Soren River. Vale is located far south of Lioru and practically resides on top of the river where it widens out to meet the sea. They are the general fish suppliers to the rest of Lioru. For some reason the location seems to attract photographers.

Edonna ( Town )
Edonna came before the city of Ekene was built and almost lost their land to the government due to being in the way of where they wanted the city to be built. They won after a long dispute when most of Lioru was on their side. Edonna's people are naturalists and do everything they can in their power to support the growth of the Arubin Forest. Knowing this the government chose to locate Ekene within the forest out of spite.

Rüven ( Town )
This town is happily nestled between the Soren River and Arubin Forest. A bridge over a thinner part of the river has been built some years ago a few miles from town. It leads to a national park where sporting events are often held. Rüven is known for the rather large mall that puts those in the cities to shame.
The mall's main attractions are the basement floor where pokémon training lessons are held and one of the top floor stores that sell evolutionary stones on occasion whenever the merchant comes through. Usually one day each month.

Nedirum ( Town )
Located far east of Lioru, this scattered town is located within the remaining Pokémon reserve with the town leader is responsible for. Nedirum was once a medical facility dedicated to the pokémon back when the entire continent was used as a reserve. The building has since added on and treats humans in a separate division. There are three main watch towers located a good handful of miles from town in strict eastern, western, and southern edges of the reserve. Another few smaller ones are scattered about the reserve at random, some built into trees to go mostly undetected by poachers.
Nedirum may seem very large but it, in fact, is one of the smallest home, resource, and population-wise. This is because the town is divided into various, small sections. Originally a village, Nedirum made the maps as a town once the populace grew. The town's people are very loyal to it and don't often stray too far away. A lot of the small buildings are divided up by either field or wooded areas. Most everything is built of wood and stone, here. There are dirt paths in place of concrete that lead to the other areas of the town, intentionally created too small for cars to follow through the trees. Being structured the way it is it's important that every person plays a role in keeping the community thriving.
